Haley Turns 8

This is a big birthday for Haley.  It is definitely a milestone birthday.  She gets to be Baptized and we are so excited for her.  She also gets to start going to Activity Days.  Haley is so grown up.  She takes such good care of Derek.  They are very close.  She is still very much a Daddy's girl.  She will do anything with him, work in the yard, go on a drive, go to the store.  Her favorite is when he goes upstairs with them at night and tells them stories when they are in bed.  This year on their birthdays we asked each of the kids a list of questions.  We are going to do this every year so we can see how their answers change.  She thought it was so much fun.  She kept wanting us to ask her more questions.  One of my favorite things is how well all 4 of the kids play together.  An example of how well she takes care of Derek.  When we were staying in the hotel  we got 2 rooms, and in one room was Haley, Derek Tyler, and Me.  Haley and Derek were sharing a bed.  He woke up several times during the night and every time he did she woke up and held him and calmed him and got him back to sleep.  It was very sweet.
This is the morning of her birthday.  Her birthday was during spring break.  Here she is getting ready to open a couple of presents, while I was waiting to take Tyler to the Dr.s (he ended up with an ear infection).  We also were leaving that day to take a trip to Vernal.
A present from Daddy.  She loves musicals.  They are her favorite shows.  She also got Annie for her birthday.
A present from Grandma.  We took the 3 hour drive to Vernal.  And we listened to Les Miserables on the way up, at Haley's request, with Daddy explaining the story as we listened.
We went straight to the Dinosaur Museum in Vernal.
Then cupcakes at the hotel.  I think Kohlers did a great job on the cupcake cake.  Of course Haley wanted the one in the middle.

We took a short hike to see some petroglyphs.
Then we did some swimming after dinner (in the new swimsuit from Aunt Tami).  I think she had a pretty good birthday.
A song book engraved with her name from Aunt Melinda
 Money from great grandma
McDonalds gift cards from Aunt Lisa.

Easter

Easter started when Logan found a clue from the Easter Bunny taped to the bananas.  They had to follow 3 clues before they found their Easter Baskets.  We colored Easter Eggs while Derek was taking a nap.  Jordan joined us.

Then the Easter Egg hunt.  Kevin even hid some up high just for Jordan.  Our backyard is really fun for hiding things.  Thanks to all the rocks.

Then an untraditional Easter dinner of Chicken Cordon Bleu.  We played "Don't eat Pete"  and then watched the movie The Lamb of God for Family Home Evening.  It was a very nice family day.

Logan's birthday

Logan turned 6.  He seems to finally be over his egg allergy which means we can finally have pictures without a snotty nose.  He's very  into sports, both watching and playing.  He is very athletic so he does well at whatever he tries.  A huge BYU fan, he knew all the players on the basketball team.  In school he wrote a paper that said his dream is to be a football player.  He likes fishing, hiking, being outdoors.  He likes anything active, everything his dad likes, and doing new things. He does really well in school.  He tested at the highest level in reading that they test in kindergarten.  In fact I was really surprised when he was reading and he read the word "criminal"  He has a desire to be the best at everything. Which will hopefully take him far in life.  He can get very hyper which gets him into trouble, but he's pretty good.  His teachers at school and church think he's perfect, so he must just save it for home. He can also be very sweet especially to Haley.  He seems so much older than his age.  He has a "girlfriend" Kaylee at school, even though he won't admit it.  She chases him at school and she's the only girl he wanted to invite to a birthday party.  Though he says she's not as pretty as Haley.  I love my little man.

All my kids love slipper pajamas.

Logan was nice enough to let Derek help.

Trying out birthday presents.

He wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese for his birthday,

Tyler's first trip

Tyler and I flew to California to meet the family.  Kevin stayed with the other kids so we could go. Unfortunately, we found out the morning before that Derek had a double ear infection, so he was very whiny and clingy the whole time I was gone.

We got to California and went straight to Miguels Jr.  Always a must have! Then on to Traci's for my nephews birthday party.  A batman themed party.  I kept asking him if he was other superheroes, Joker, superman, Robin, and he would smile and laugh and point to his shirt and say "No I'm batman."  He probably thought I was pretty dense by the end of the day.
Tyler met Great Grandpa.
 Great Grandma

He was very comfortable holding Tyler. He kept trying to adjust Tyler so he was facing the irght camera./

Tyler's first movie. Mirror Mirror with Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma, Aunt Tami, and Maddison who got to feed him a bottle
It was also Grandma's birthday and all of us siblings were there

 Grandpa's favorite position.

Aunt Traci made this giraffe for Tyler.

Thanks Aunt Tami for taking care of me so mommy could go get a pedicure.
