May-2 Day 8

Today we took Haley to get her hair cut.  Her hair was so long, but she wasn't very good at brushing it and she cried any time I tried to.  We had warned her for months that we were going to get it cut after the wedding, but she was still mad at me.  She shot daggers at me the whole time she was getting it cut. We were able to cut off enough to donate.

While I was there I decided to cut my hair also.  Afterwards we went to Grandma's house for lunch.  She made us turkey meatballs with pasta.  The best part of course was Grandma's homemade carrot cake.  The kids played with  Grandpa's old toys.  After Maddison got home from school, we took the kids swimming.  Tyler and I relaxed.
For dinner we went to BJ's with the whole family.

Day 7 --Disneyland

Back to Disneyland!  Mom, Tami, and Maddison joined us today and it was a lot of fun.  Again the weather was really good, and there were no lines.  It was one of our best trips to Disney in a long time.

The day did start off on a bad note.  We had been promising Derek he could ride a roller coaster.  He is our daredevil.  We told him he could ride the Matterhorn, that he was tall enough.  So that was the first place we ran to.  Unbeknownst to us,  they had changed the ride in the last year and had upped the height requirement.  Boy did he scream.   "I'm big nough.  Me not little."  Screamed and Screamed.  Of course every body else still went.  I tried to appease him with the Alice in Wonderland Ride and the Tea Cups, but it just wasn't enough.  (We ended our day with tears about the matterhorn also.  Isaac wanted to ride it a third time)
So after that we went to the kid roller coaster in toon town.  He LOVED it.  He also loved Pirates of the Carribean.  We rode it twice and he kept putting his hands up when ever the boat would climb in anticipation of the drop. Then he would say "that was a fun rolley coaster"
Lunch time.  Lunch was delicious.  We found a restaurant at New Orleans Square that had refillable sodas.  Which makes all the difference.

The Monte Cristos were delicious.
Splash Mountain--Not sure why Logan is holding his breath in both of these pictures.

Mom kept Tyler and I company on the little kid rides.

Just realized that Haley and Maddison were wearing butterfly shirts.

Derek couldn't go on Star Wars, but as we were walking towards it he saw the space ships and he just had to go on it.  Maddison tried to talk him out of it, saying they went to high, but nothing doing, so Aunt Tami took him on while we went on Star Tours.

 Gotta have a Dole Whip.

When asked what his favorite ride was Derek said "California Screamin, Tower of Terror, all the ones Haley liked" None of which he got to go on.  Isaac's favorite was the Matterhorn.  I just love seeing how much fun my kids have being there.

Day 6--California Adventure Disneyland

We decided to spend 2 days at Disneyland.  We usually do 1 day and rush through, but this time we spent 1 day at each park.  We did California Adventure the first day.  We were so lucky, the park wasn't crowded at all.  With fast passes and baby switch we never waited for more than 10 minutes for a ride.  We did a lot of splitting up so Kevin could take the older kids on the older rides, and I spent time with the little kids on the little rides so it worked out well.

On our way to our first ride we stopped to see Donald Duck.  Tyler was with us but I didn't want to try to get him out of the stroller just so he could scream at the characters.  My mom commented on how used to taking pictures our kids are.  They would run up and pose themselves.

 Tyler was ready to go.

We went on the Mickey Mouse Ferris Wheel where the cars move freely on their own tracks.  The before pictures.....

The after pictures.  Kevin and Derek were the only ones who liked this ride.  Kevin got to see my fear of heights in full effect, and was laughing so hard he had to take videos.

Logan got to go on his first real roller coaster ride with a loop, California Screamin.  He said he liked it, and went 2x,  Haley on the other hand loved it and went 5x.
Isaac got to ride Tower of Terror for the first time.

 Riding the zip line.
These were hovercraft bumber cars, they were propelled by the air coming up from the ground and you controlled them by leaning.

Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates, a family favorite.

Derek wanted to ride a ride by himeself, of course he was too little, but on the balloon ride, in Bug's Life he got to sit by himself across from me, and that was good enough.
