The end of summer

Kevin wanted to make sure we did something fun with the kids before they went back to school, so he took the Wednesday before they started off of work and we went to 7 Peaks in the morning for some water slides, and on the way we saw this deer.  After the water park we went to lunch, and then to the theater to see Monster's U.
The next day we left for Vernal.  On the way we listened to a book on tape of a series that our kids (and Kevin and I) love.  That night the kids went swimming in the hotel pool.
This cutie wanted to stay in my bed.

That next morning we rented a pontoon boat and went out to Flaming Gorge.

Haley spotted these Big Horn Sheep.

 The scenery was beautiful.
We got to do some cliff jumping.  Here is Logan
 Isaac
 Haley
 Even Derek tried it.

We had to do some fishing of course.

I wasn't planning on getting back in the water, but when Tyler saw the kids getting in he had to get in also.  I hadn't put him in, because I thought it might be too cold for him.  He and I jumped in for a few minutes and when I tried to get him out he screamed because he wanted to stay in.   He loves being in the water.
 Long day.

On saturday we tried to find another place to swim, but the water levels were at an all time low, so it turned out to just be a mud fest.  We then drove home finishing our book on tape.  In the book we were listening to, they were visiting an Island called Tookie Tookie.  Derek loved this name.  Every time he heard it, he would say "tookie tookie" and laugh.  Every once in a while when we weren't listening he would say.  "daddy member when Alcatraz was going to tookie tookie; isn't that funny."
We were back on Saturday night for church on Sunday, and Monday morning I took the kids to McDonald's for breakfast and so they could play on the playground there, and that evening we went to open house.  Tuesday morning it was back to school for Haley and Logan.

Hike to Scout Falls

Kevin took the 4 oldest kids on a hike to Scout falls.  Leaving Tyler and I home to do some housework.
Our hikes almost always include Jimmy Johns.

So glad we bought these water paks for all the kids.
Logan named this Chair Tree, which of course means that everyone had to sit on it.

The kids are always looking for photo opps.

The hike was very nice until the last 500 feet which was up loose rocks.  It was even more challenging coming back down.

There was not much water, but it was a fun hike and a great view.  Maybe earlier in the summer the falls would have been fuller.

Wednesday July 31- Friday Aug 2

On Wednesday we used our pass of all passes to go to 7 peaks water park.  Thursday we did some shopping and then Melinda's neice and her children  came to hang out.  Friday we used our passes to go to an Owls baseball game.  We had a lot of fun with all the family here!.
Logan came down late one night because he couldn't sleep, so I let him watch BYU's top 50 plays with me.  He kept saying I remember that play and it would be from the 80.'s
Eating ice cream at the Owls game.  The Owls are a rookie affiliate team for the Angel's
Derek loved the Mascot....He kept wanting to go see him.  He even danced with them.

 Don't you love the sunglasses.
The boys went down to talk to this player.  Logan asked him if had ever had a home run, and he said no he was pitcher, but he did have a home run when he was in high school.
Jimmer was there to throw out the opening pitch.

 Kisses for Lauri

Kevin was out of town for High Adventure.  So Melinda and I took all the kids to the game and then Melinda and I watched GI Joe.  Interesting Girls night out.
