Cascade Springs

On Monday we went to Cascade Springs. We had never been up there before, and it was absolutely gorgeous. It's a place we will visit again and again. The walk was easy and very pretty.

Haley had a splinter.

Logan was having too much fun running across the bridge to pose for a picture.

All of a sudden Logan pulled up his pants and started walking around. When we showed him the picture, he said "I'm being a chicken!"

Isaac just trucking along (his shorts got wet) he walked most of the way by himself.

Into everything

Isaac likes to take the tops off of markers and eat them. Thing is, I don't know where he is finding them, because I don't let the kids use markers. He even got his teeth with this one.

He has decided that he can walk down stairs instead of scoot. He fell down the cement steps trying this morning. Which left those beautiful marks. They start at the very top of his forhead. Later that day he was standing at the top of our stairs holding onto the wall and swinging his leg over the stairs. He thinks it's funny, it raises my blood pressure.

Love this picture! He looks like a man enjoying a cold one after a hard day.

We were walking outside and a bee started buzzing around us while I was holding Isaac. I was trying to shoo it away and it landed on Isaac and I couldn't get it off. Look at his face, he was so upset. He got a sucker to calm him down.

The sting mark on the top of his head.

Isaac found a new way to get down off the stepstool in this video. He was doing it over and over again before I started filming.

Preschool Graduation

Last night was Haley's preschool graduation. We took her out to dinner first, and of course she picked Chinese. Then we all went to the graduation. Even Kevin, though he was quick to point out that he has missed 2 of his own graduations. They sang about 8 of the songs they had learned throughout the school year, then they called each child's name as they handed them a diploma. After her graduation, we went out for rootbeer floats as a special treat. The whole time Logan kept saying how excited he is to go to preschool next year. Preschool has been so good for Haley. She has learned and grown so much. Her teachers this year were awesome.

Haley is extremely shy and in her program in October she just sat there and looked around. Tonight she actually sang and did the hand motions. It was great to see how much she has changed. I can't believe she is going to be in Kindergarten next year. Yikes.

Bear Lake

the kids playing in the backyard of the condo.

We just got back from a family vacation at Bear Lake, and we had a great time. We didn't do much, but it was nice to just relax and not worry about housework, or yard work, or callings. Every thing we did was 100% for and with the family. We didn't even have internet! The kids didn't want to leave, in fact Haley wanted us to move into the house.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo, which was nice because we could keep bedtimes and naptimes. We also ate breakfast and lunch there which is much easier with 3 little kids. Luckily it even had a washer and dryer, because our first day there our kids decided to get extremely muddy.

One of the things the kids were most excited about was fishing. They loved it, even though Kevin didn't even put hooks on their lines. That just sounds like an accident waiting to happen. There were weights on the end of their lines and they just had fun casting. Isaac was asleep so he and I stayed in the car.

The first day we played at a park and then walked down to the beach. Even though the water temp was only around 45, all 3 kids decided to get wet and muddy. It was a very long walk back to the car. We went out to dinner and had really good ribs and steak. That night as we were driving to the wildlife refuge, we passed tons of cow farms and figured the meat was so good because it was fresh. The wildlife refuge was a refuge for birds. There were lots of Canadian geese with babies.

The condo had a fireplace which we all loved. I especially liked to nap in front of it.
It also gave Kevin a good excuse to play with his camera.

We went swimming every day in the indoor heated pool, because it was still kind of chilly there. By the end of the third day Haley was actually swimming by herself. She was so proud of herself. We did have to bribe her with a raspberry shake to get her started, but we all shared it.

Logan swimming (more like running without ever touching ground.) Kevin says it reminds him of the treading exercises his mom used to do in the pool.

Isaac's our little daredevil. We had to put the floaties on him because he kept leaving the 2 ft wading pool to try to get in the big pool. Here he is floating along in the big pool with the big kids. Never one to be left out.

On the drive home through the Cache National Forest we saw a shmoose (She or female moose). Kevin doesn't believe that there are really Moose with antlers (we've always only seem shmooses.) He thinks they must be related to Jackalopes.

At Rick Springs, even though they finally figured out it really isn't a spring but the Logan river coming thorugh cracks in the rocks. People kept getting sick from drinking the water, they thought it was a clear mountain spring.

Here is Logan swimming. The two things he says are "I'm fwimming" (no not a typo), and "I won" at the end. We're still trying to find out who he was racing.

Little man

Isaac seems so grown up and doing things he shouldn't be able to do. For instance here he is playing T-ball. I think he is going to be an athlete.

Here he stole some pizza from me and walked around eating it. Good thing the pictures were cute, because daddy wasn't happy.

I was transplanting some seedlings and had to go in the house for a minute, when I came back Isaac had thrown dirt all over the place, including my kitchen and his head. He even pulled out a few of my seedlings. He was laughing, I was not. Later, he sat in one of my pots.

We had some friends over for games, and this is how Isaac fell asleep, while we were playing.

april madness

Some pictures from April I really liked!
Haley and Logan got Fishing Poles from Aunt Lisa for their birthdays. Here they are testing them out in the backyard. Daddy was teaching them to cast for when they get to go on a real fishing trip.

Isaac's favorite thing to do is wrestle, and it usually turns into an all out brawl.

Isaac on his first pony ride. He wasn't too sure about it.

Here is a video of one of our wrestling matches.

Swimming

Today I took my kids swimming. It's my first time taking them by myself, but we did great and they had a really fun time. This pool was great because it was shallow and had slides. They had a lazy river and Haley loved floating around it on her back.

Haley at the top of the slide.
Logan liked to float around.

Isaac is a little daredevil in the pool. He just walks around splashing the water.

Sorry about the video...I forgot to turn it the right way, but it was still really cute so I put it up.

This is Haley and her friend Miranda on the slide.
