Family Home Evening

Making a Gingerbread house for our Family Home evening activity.

For the first time ever we asked Logan to do the FHE lesson this sunday. He was so excited every time it got mentioned he would say he had to practice and then take off. On Sunday he started going around the house collecting things for his lesson. He put together a 3 part lesson all by himself and it was so cute and smart. (He's only 3 1/2). First we sang songs, then he recited 2 Christmas poems that he learned in school. One of the poems is in the video below. Then he used the things he had been collecting all day to teach us about Santa Claus. It was so cute.

Here is the translation of the poem:

Isn't it the strangest thing. That Sant is so shy? We can never, never catch him, No matter how we try. It isn't any use to watch, Because my parents said, "Santa Clause will only come, When children are in bed!"

Christmas activities

Last night we took the kids to Temple Square to see the Christmas lights. I think this place gets more crowded every year. It was very cold, but beautiful.

It took me a while to figure out what had happened in this picture. I thought we were being visited by Christmas ghosts. Turns out it was just my breath as I was taking the picture. So I held my breath in the following pics.

Haley had her Christmas program also. They had a pajama day Christmas party the same day. (Pink pj's, front row)

Each class sang 2 songs, and of course my luck Kindergarten was last and the program was 55 minutes long. I was very proud of her she sang the songs and even though she never looked out at the audience while she was singing, she was up there and excited about it. Slowly coming out of her shyness.

Logan's preschool Christmas Program

Today was Logans preschool program. He was very cute. He even participated and did all the motions (which is a big deal in this family)

Haley asked Santa for a dolly.

When Santa asked Logan what he wanted he said "I want something, but I can't remember what"

As you'll see in this video, after every song Logan would give us a cheesy smile and wave.

Random pictures

Here are my Cinderella children cleaning my floor.

Logan must have had a long day. Unfortunately Isaac didn't like the idea of Logan taking a nap and sat on him to wake him up.

All dressed up for playing in the snow. Logan loves to sled in the backyard.

Great Grandma visits

We woke up this morning to a beautiful white, winter storm.
Grandma wanted to throw a snowball.

very cold.

checking out the snow in the backyard.
Haley, Logan and Grandma made some yummy fudge.

We really enjoyed having Grandma here. Especially Haley who made good use of Grandma's lap, whether it was watching Snow White, cartoons or playing Old Maid, if Grandma was sitting Haley was on her lap. Logan told Great Grandma it was snowing so she should stay for another week. He also asked her to go sledding with them this morning in the backyard. Thanks, for coming Grandma come again this spring.

Decorating the Christmas tree

I look forward to decorating the Christmas tree every year. I think it's good fun family activity. I hoping to buy a new Christmas tree after Christmas this year so we can have 2, 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs. (Our old Christmas tree is too small for our new house.) Here the kids are decorating. Isaac was so deliberate with putting the ornaments on. He actually did a very good job, but I'm not sure he smiled once.

I was handing out decorations so fast I never really got to put any on myself. I did hang a couple in the back that I could reach from where I was sitting.

Halloween

So I know this post is late, but we've been very busy.
Carving Pumpkins.

Tiffany and David. Tiffany has some weird fascination with cleaning out pumpkins. She doesn't like to carve them. Just clean them.

Everyone with their pumpkins.

Haley's, Kevin's and Logan's pumpkins. Haley carved hers all by herself. I drew on the face and she did all the cutting.

Isaac the Tiger.

Logan the ninja. Except he called himself an "inja"

Haley was a flower princess.

Trick or treating with their friend Miranda.
Isaac went up to every door also, he was just usually a door behind them. He learned to say trick or treat and didn't like it when people handed him the candy, he liked to pick it out of the bowl himself.

Last pictures from California

Climbing Great Grandma and Great Grandpa's tree.

Oh so cool

I laid him asleep on the couch, but everyone was really noisy, but not as noisy as he was tired. We found him like this.

Playing with Aunt Kati

We went to a pizza parlor that had rides and games.
We had a great time. It was a good break between moving and unpacking.
