build day/safety awareness

The first Saturday of every month Home Depot.  So we went down there as a family and they were having a safety fair in the home depot parking lot along with the building stuff.  So the kids built a helicopter and also received some legos for a firefighter set and then we walked around.  We saw an ambulance, a fire truck, a dog from the k-9 unit, and a police car.  The coolest thing was the life flight helicopter that we watched land and then the kids got to go in.  They had a lot of fun, and it was a beautiful day.

The pilot showed Haley how to move the rotor and she was able to do it.

This was Isaac's first year of flag football.  He did super good.  The boy is obsessed with football.  He is always playing.  He scored at least once in every game he played, and he did good on defense.  He had a couple of good pass receptions, but they mostly did handoffs and fakes.

Here he is grabbing a flag.
This series is him running for a long touchdown.  He always runs with his arms straight back.

Crossing the line for the touchdown.

and then checking to make sure he still had his flags, but as you can tell he was so fast there was no one around him.

Here he is on offense getting ready to block.

Here is Issac catching a pass and almost getting a touchdown.  But he shows some pretty good moves.

Field Trip

I was able to go on Haley's 4th grade field trip with her.  We went to the "This is the Place" monument and village.  This is Haley and her best friend Sadie, pulling hand carts.

Haley's volleyball

Haley was on a 3rd/4th grade girls volleyball team through the rec center this year.  She loved it and did really well.  Her serving was awesome, I think I only saw her miss one serve all season.  They have to try one over hand serve every time they are up to serve and if they miss and they can then switch to underhand (the overhand serve doesn't count if they miss).  Haley got one of her overhand serves over.  Haley would get really upset if when she served it and it got returned and her team missed it.  One time she even stamped her foot, and another time she ran to a different spot to return it herself.  She might be getting a little of that competitive spirit.  She had 2 friends from school on the team and 1 girl from our ward, so it was really fun.

Aww. Sweet baby letting mom enjoy the game.

Haley got her hands on a lot more returns this year.  We just need to teach her aim, but she was much improved over last year.

random pics

Our beautiful fall weather ended abruptly on Sept. 25th.  Yes already snow on the mountains.
But we still had flag football games to go to.  Here Derek is sporting his new jacket.  I bought Isaac a similar jacket from Costco in gray.  When I bought it Derek told me he wanted this "bluey" one.  I told him next time hoping he would forget.  Well I forgot but I guess he didn't because the next time we went to Costco he was sitting in the back of the cart looking at my phone and all of a sudden i hear in a very no nonsense voice "yep that's the one I want, the bluey"  it took me a minute to figure out what he was talking about because he was still looking at my phone.  But there it is, he got his bluey.
Tyler was not happy at this football game and the only way I could keep him entertained was by taking pictures.
 The many faces of Ty

 We had several cold games.
Haley made this cherry pie in a cooking class, she also made an apple pie and chili in a biscuit bread bowl.
Kevin was given 2 tickets to a BYU game and he took Logan.  Logan decided to attach his stadium blanket to his scarf so he wouldn't have to carry it.
At the BYU game.  Logan loved it and pays very close attention to the whole game.  We had several fumbles inside the red zone, and when we finally made it in for a touchdown.  He started yelling, "he didn't fumble, he didn't fumble."
