Halloween

Halloween is really fun around here. Every year Omniture throws a huge Halloween party, where they decorate all the offices and let he kids come trick or treat. The decorations get pretty out of control. This year they had a talking and moving dragon, a football field (for which they brought in real sod) where it was BYU VS Utah, candy land, Gotham City and more. So we dress up and go there for a couple of hours, come home eat dinner and then we're off to trick or treat around the neighborhood.

Sleeping Beauty

Haley with the BYU cheerleaders. These were the real cheerleaders who were at the Omniture Party for pictures.

The cheerleaders came up to me and asked me if they could take their picture with Logan, because he had the cutest costume they saw all day.

Rah Rah Rah GO Cougars. Again Omniture goes all out for their party. They had the BYU mascot and the Utah Ute mascot.

More cousin fun

It's fun seeing these these two cousins together. They are only 5 weeks apart. Hopefully they will always be close and cause lots of problems together.

Haley and Maddison have been joined at the hip. The only fight we've had is when Maddison finished Haley's french fries. Haley does not share food.

Haley and Maddison are very close. Haley can't blink without Maddison.

Haley's field trips

Haley has had 2 field trips through pre-school so far.
The first field trip was to the fire dept. They got to walk through an ambulance (hopefully the only way we'll ever be in one), then they sat in a fire truck, and they got to try on a jacket and a hat. She had a fun time and I enjoyed being there with her.

The second field trip was to a pumpkin patch. The second trip was a little more involved. When we first got there we ate lunch. The kids sat at a picnic table and Isaac was in a stroller, somehow he got a hold of Logan's napkin and spilled barbeque sauce all over himself and the stroller. Then Haley had to go to the bathroom, and they only had port-a-potties. Then it was time for a hay ride. They put two full classes, plus parents and siblings on one ride. Not so comfortable. Plus it was hot and sunny. Then we went into the pumpkin patch, where we had to go in and pick our own pumpkins. Since it was early in the season, we had to forge our own paths threw the dead sunflower stalks. Who knew that pumpkin vines were prickly. By the way I did all this carrying Isaac because I couldn't get the stroller through. Then we went through the corn maze, and whoever thought sending preschool children through a maze without a guide was a good idea, was miserably wrong. My kids were so hot and tired at one point I was carrying both Isaac and Logan. Once we finally made it out, we got some cloud cover and the kids got to enjoy the slides. Next year I think we'll get our pumpkins from the store.

Not cool

I went upstairs to put Logan down for his nap and when I came downstairs...

Isaac was doing this. I can't believe my son is old enough to crawl up stairs. I am not ready to put the gate back up or baby proof. He also figured out how to unplug the sound system. The little monster learns fast. I sat him up in his crib a week ago and within 10 seconds he had pulled himself into a standing position. He's not even 8 months yet, I can't believe how fast he is growing up.
He can get just about anywhere now, and he is already climbing on things.

Good Daddy

Kevin is such a good daddy. He comes home every night and instead of getting on the computer or watching tv, he makes a point of playing with the kids. They absolutely adore their father. Haley will ask me a question and if I don't know she'll say "let's ask daddy he probably knows." Anything that gets broken they are sure their daddy can fix it. I'm grateful for the wonderful dad that my children have. Here are a few pictures of Kevin with his kids.

He reads to them every night. Usually a library book and the Book of Mormon. Issac is ready to get in on the action.

Haley wanted to paint and I had promised her all day we would, I finally set her and Logan up to paint (it was Logan's first painting experience) when Isaac wanted to eat. I asked Kevin to keep an eye on things, and when I came upstairs I found Kevin painting with them.

One day we had Kevin meet us at the park during his lunch hour at work. He was teaching the kids how to slide down the pole.

They built a fort. The fun part was when we fit all 5 of us in there.

I couldn't get a good picture of all 3 of them in the fort. So here is a good one of Haley,

Child Labor

I sent the kids out back to play the other day. They were being quiet and good, so I looked outside to see what they were doing.

Then they would climb to the top of the slide and throw the weed over the fence.

They were taking turns very well.

And then down the slide.

When I asked Haley what they were doing she said they were helping daddy do his job (even though daddy was at work at the time) pulling weeds.

Fall Decoration project

I was talking to my mother-in-law about her super saturday coming up in Relief Society and this was a project we did at ours last year. I was going to send her an email with instructions, but a blog is much easier. Plus I thought someone else might like the idea.
Materials needed: roll of toilet paper, fabric, brown lunch bag, twine, straight pins, tape.

Tuck the ends of the fabric into the middle of the toilet paper roll. Use straight pins to hold the fabric.

Take the brown lunch bag and roll it up to desired length and width, secure with tape

Wrap twine around half of the bag.

Push paper bag into center of toilet paper roll

Add fake leaf if desired.

You can also use a paper towel roll to make a tall pumpkin, or two toilet paper rolls stacked on top of each other. These make a cute holiday center piece.
