Derek's Birthday

Derek turned 4.  He is such a character.  He is definitely the tease in our family and especially loves to tease and make Isaac mad.  He has this smile that he thinks lets him get away with anything.  He is extremely happy.  He loves to cuddle and has moved his bed in with the big kids and loves it.  He kept telling us he didn't turn 4 until he had his cupcakes.  He likes to play ping pong, and video games.  He likes to paint and play games like UNO and go fish.  He pretty much likes to do anything that anybody else is doing as long as he doesn't have to eat potatoes or carrots.
This is the present he got from great Grandma.
He wanted cupcakes and cake for his birthday.
We had steak and crab legs for dinner.

Enjoying the cupcakes.

Grandpa Smith comes for a visit.

Grandma Smith went to India on a trip and Grandpa came to visit us while she was gone.  We took him to 3 BYU Basketball games, 2 of Logan's games, and 2 of Haley's games. He played uno with Isaac every day.

Haley won this scarf and beanie at the game.

We spent one Sunday playing games all day long, and then Amanda, Amol, and Jordan came over for dinner and more games.  It was a lot of fun.

New Years Eve

Playing with the karaoke machine from Grandma from Christmas.
We watched Harry Potter on the new screen with projector we got for Christmas.
Kevin cracked our stove top trying to open a wine bottle (for the soup not celebrating) :)
The aforementioned soup.  Homemade French Onion Soup
We watched the ball drop (at 10) on the big screen and did poppers.
Then some yummy peppermint ice cream dessert.

Christmas Eve

 Christmas Sunday.
We started a new tradition last year on Christmas Eve, where we have our  big Christmas dinner on christmas Eve and then have it as last overs on Christmas day, so I don't have to spend all Christmas Day cooking, and instead enjoy it with my family.  It works really well.  Then we opened our Christmas presents of new pajamas.

Afterwards we played pin the nose on Rudolph

 and Don't eat Pete.

The kids also acted out the story of the Birth of Christ.
