Child Labor

I sent the kids out back to play the other day. They were being quiet and good, so I looked outside to see what they were doing.
Here Haley is picking weeds.

Here is Logan picking weeds.

He is proud of his weed.

Then they would climb to the top of the slide and throw the weed over the fence.

They were taking turns very well.

And then down the slide.

When I asked Haley what they were doing she said they were helping daddy do his job (even though daddy was at work at the time) pulling weeds.

Fall Decoration project

I was talking to my mother-in-law about her super saturday coming up in Relief Society and this was a project we did at ours last year. I was going to send her an email with instructions, but a blog is much easier. Plus I thought someone else might like the idea.
Materials needed: roll of toilet paper, fabric, brown lunch bag, twine, straight pins, tape.

Tuck the ends of the fabric into the middle of the toilet paper roll. Use straight pins to hold the fabric.

Take the brown lunch bag and roll it up to desired length and width, secure with tape

Wrap twine around half of the bag.

Push paper bag into center of toilet paper roll

Add fake leaf if desired.

You can also use a paper towel roll to make a tall pumpkin, or two toilet paper rolls stacked on top of each other. These make a cute holiday center piece.

Alpine Loop

This post is a little behind, but the last weekend in September we went up the Alpine Loop with family and these are some pictures from that wonderful day. When fall is like this it is my favorite time of year. It is so beautiful here, the weather is perfect, leaves changing color. It makes me sad everyday to think this could be the last nice day till spring. I've been taking the kids to the park a lot in anticipation for winter hibernation coming.
Anyways, back to the topic at at hand. Kevin's sister Melinda was here for a day with her daughters, Jenna and Lauri. And our brother-in-law Chad was here with his son Andrew. We went with them and Tiffany to lunch at Chuck-a-rama. We always go when Melinda is here. She likes their scones. Dallin and Katie met us there and then it was a nice drive through the Alpine loop with several stops to look at the scenery and take pictures.

Our nephew Andrew. I thought he looked so cute in his cowboy clothes. Dressed like his daddy.

The bee thought it was a nice day also.
Father and Son. I love this picture. Chad and Andrew.

The motley crue.

This picture is for anyone who doesn't think Utah is beautiful.
Lauri was so good with the little kids.

Lauri gets car sick. The alpine loop was not a great idea for her. At this stop Logan was asleep in the backseat and all of sudden he was screaming and wiping at his nose really hard. Once I got him to calm down I looked at his nose and he had been stung while sleeping. Poor guy.

Andrew and Jenna.

I think they got tired of Kevin saying "Say Cheese!"
Lauri holding baby Nathan.

Funny Haley Stories

We went to Kohl's the other day and Haley found a little halloween bear. She said "Mom isn't this little bear dariling" I said "Yes , Haley it is darling" Then she said "What a darling little bear, Mommy what does darling mean?"

We decided to start potty training Logan. So I took him to the store to buy underwear. As we are going through the store he keeps saying over and over pretty loudly, "I love my new underwear" Then Haley wanted to hold his underwear and she said over and over very loudly "I love Logan's underwear."

This morning I was getting Haley ready for school and I said "Pants off" and she said "your's or mine" Something her father would say.

More pics from mom and dad's trip

So I think I might be addicted to this thing. I post a lot of pictures. Hopefully one day I'll figure out how to print the pages and then I'll have a good journal.

This is Haley's last soccer game. She got to do the opening kick. It was a very interesting game we had thunder, lightning, rain, wind, and sun. After the game we went to Kneaders to have the most delicious french toast to celebrate
More Pictures from Provo Falls

It was very cold.
Can't have just one.
This was up Provo Canyon. We went up on my parents last night. We had a bonfire and cooked smores. The kids loved it. It was their first smores. Haley had more fun cooking the marshmallows then eating them. Logan enjoyed the smores. Unfortunately most of the pictures didn't turn out because of the change in light, time of day. But we have the memories.

Thanks for coming mom and dad. We had a really good time. It was fun to have you here.

Price Visit

While my mom and dad were here we took a trip down to Price to visit Grandpa Burnham.

Isaac did not enjoy the trip he decided that he no longer likes his car seat and he screamed almost the entire 2 1/2 hour trip home. It was good to go and see Grandpa and meet his new wife Jetty.
Dad and Grandpa

Every once in a while Haley will ask me to take her picture, and I am always willing to comply. This is one of those moments.

Logan thought he was in heaven when he saw this pile of rocks. The kids spent the whole time throwing rocks from the lawn over the fence. (something they wouldn't normally be allowed to do)

Once he got to the top he wanted to see if he could make it into a slide.

Pole Dancing?

Maybe a family business?

He was very happy when he wasn't in his car seat.

Mommy having fun with the new camera.

Beautiful car

We were driving around the other day and Haley got really excited. She was trying really hard to get our attention, she could barely get the words out she was trying to talk so fast. We got out of the car and she said "That was the most beautiful car in the world. It has so many pretty colors." I had to take a picture, maybe we'll get her one like it for her 16 birthday, and see if she still thinks it's the most beautiful car. The hubcaps are my favorite.
