Adobe Halloween Party

We went to the Adobe Halloween Party again, and again they outdid themselves.  It was a lot of fun.  I liked it this year because they did it the day before Halloween, so it didn't feel so busy and rushed.  We started by waiting in line, and while in line we had sodas, ice cream cones, and popcorn.  A magician came by and used Haley and Logan in his act. The yo-yo guy was back and there was a live band.  They had a bunch of live animals.  There were some snakes, and the kids got to hold a scorpion and a tarantula.  It made waiting in line fun.

There were Cheerleaders there from the Utah Jazz, and Haley danced with them and then we got a picture.
One of the pods was done Disney style.

They had a Neverland area and Logan fit in very well.  In the picture below you can see Peter Pans legs as he was flying through the air.
The kids got to "slide down the plank"

 It was a big ship.
We took a wagon hay ride back to the car at the end of the day.

Derek really got into it.  There were some scary costumes, but he would just wave to the people and as long as they would wave back he was just fine.  We love the Halloween party!

Halloween Costumes

This year we got to dress up twice for Halloween.  Kevin's company party was the day before Halloween.  I think I did pretty good with the costumes this year!

I bought this werewolf costume for Isaac, but he didn't want to wear it.  Derek was quite okay with that.  He loved this costume and wore it several times when it wasn't Halloween

Beautiful Witch.  After seeing these pictures Kevin asked me if we should just finish the basement as a prison and lock her up from all the boys when she grows up! :)

Arghh! a pirate.  He looks so grown up in these pictures.  I love the earring. It really adds.

I couldn't get them to sit still for a good picture.
 Tyler really wasn't into it.
Isaac wanted to be a ninja just like the year before.  A little boring, but it was easy.

Pumpkin Pictures
Derek really wanted his picture taken too.  He kept saying my turn now.  So he finally got his turn with Isaac's pumpkin.

Carving Pumpkins

The weekend before Halloween was one filled with sick kids, but we still managed to carve our pumpkins.  Logan had a very bad cough with a gross nose, so Friday night when I went to bed and heard someone coughing I naturally assumed it was him.  Next thing I know it's Isaac coming down the stairs with a very croupy cough.  It was really bad.  Kevin took him outside and it didn't make any difference.  His little chest was sinking in and i knew it was bad when he couldn't even get enough breath to talk.  So to the ER he and I went.  We were there from 11-2.  He was so bad they kept him for observation.  I realized how bad it was when another mom came in with a son with croup and they gave him medicine and sent him straight home.  Saturday morning Kevin and I were still in bed and we heard the croup cough and looked up expecting to see Isaac.  Nope.  Derek!!  So I took him to Urgent care to get the medicine, so as not to have a repeat of the night before.  Sunday we carved pumpkins.  Monday I was back at the DR.'s this time with Logan to get him amoxicillian for his cough and nose.
I could tell when the medicine had finally kicked in (after 2 hrs) when he wanted to play Angry birds.

Anyways back to pumpkins.  Isaac was really into carving pumpkins this year.  He did almost everything himself.  Kevin drew the face on it, and I supervised him and helped a little, but he did most of the work.

Derek didn't want to have anything to do with the pumpkins, so he watched cartoons.

Logan picked a face that he knew he could do without any help.  We offered to help him because the teeth turned out to be much harder than we expected, but he was having nothing to do with it.  We didn't help at all.

Haley also did her witch by herself.  I think we are going to have some good pumpkin carving contests in the next several years.
Isaac picked this pumpkin because he liked the stem.

The first pumpkin I have carved by myself since we've had kids.  I'm usually helping the kids.
