California Trip

We recently took a trip to California. Logan earned us this trip by scoring 5 goals in his soccer games. We drove down on October 13, and on the 14th we went to Disneyland. Our family, plus Tami, Maddison and Kati. We had a great time. We started out in California Disney, but by the time we made it to the other side we decided Kevin needed a wheel chair. Our entire trip had almost been cancelled because Kevin had hurt his knee a couple of weeks earlier. Out of his love for me and not wanting to disappoint the kids, he pushed back his surgery a month so we could take this vacation.
The wheel chair was nice, because it got us to the front of a lot of the lines.

Buzz Lightyear was Isaac's favorite ride. He called it the "shoot the bad guys ride" At the end of day we were getting ready to leave and for 40 min he kept saying "me want shoot bad guys again" So we gave in and it was the last ride of the evening.

When we were getting Haley ready for Disneyland I told her to go put on the orange tank top with skirt. She told me that she didn't want to because wearing tank tops is bad. I asked her where she had heard that and she said school. It's against the school dress code. So I told her to just go look at it and if she didn't want to wear it that was fine I would get her something else. A few minutes later she came out wearing it and Kevin said she decided to wear it because it was cute.

Disneyland was all decorated for Halloween.

On the tram ride home at the end of the day. The kids were so tired. By the end of the ride to our car, Logan had fallen asleep also.

Haley and Maddison rode every ride together. Here on Pirates they sat in the last row all by themselves.

We got to see Captain EO which Disney brought back. This was always a favorite of mine as a kid. The kids loved it. When we were watching it, Michael Jackson started talking and Haley asks "Captain EO is a girl?"

First Candy

Grandma gave Derek his first sucker. He quite liked it.

Of course this baby puts EVERYTHING in his mouth. This one he left in.

So after his first sucker he had a bath. He finally loves the bath. He had his first real bath here at Grandma's house. At home he usually takes a shower.

The best thing about having to make cookies without eggs............

You get to lick the spoon.

A couple of weeks ago we rented a bounce house for the kids. I told Logan about it and told him I was the coolest Mom in the world, and He immediately said no Daddy is. So for the next couple of days I tried hard to become the coolest mom in the world. So when we were making these cookies Logan told me "Now you're the coolest mom in the world."

Also while making these cookies I had forgotten to start the flax seed (which I use instead of eggs) and I said under my breath dang I forgot the eggs. I ran around and did a few things and saw that Logan was trying not to cry and I asked him what was wrong and he said "you never make me cookies without eggs" He was so sad because he thought he was helping me make cookies he couldn't eat.

Tonight during his prayer he asked Heavenly Father to help mommy make cookies without egg, which is better than Haley who in every prayer has been asking for me to be a better mommy.

Itty Bitty Football

We put Logan in Itty Bitty Football through the rec center this year. It is so fun to watch. Logan is a very competitive athletic little boy. They do drills in different stations and always play a little flag football.

Logan's Heisman pose throwing the football.

practicing field goal kicks. He tries so hard every time.
In this video Logan is running for a touchdown.

Here he is grabbing the flags. (sorry about the shaking of the video, I was trying to film while holding a very grabby Derek.)

Here he is doing running drills. Just watch his face.

At the end of this session Logan runs up to me with a huge smile and says "my coach says BYU is going to call me" I told him that was awesome and asked him if he knew what that meant. He said no so I told him it means that he is so good that when he gets older BYU is going to want him to play for them. He was so happy and several times since then we'll just be sitting around and he'll say "I'm so excited to play for BYU when I'm older" or "i'm so happy that BYU will call me one day". It is sooooo cute.

Bryce Canon

Our next day trip was into Bryce Canyon. Bryce was absolutely spectacular. I don't know which of the three parks were my favorite. They were all so different.

Yes, mom on the cell phone.

Kevin, Haley, Logan and I went on a hike called Navajo loop. It was a very steep hike, .7 miles down and .6 miles back up. It was such beautiful scenery. Thanks mom and dad for watching the two little boys. We could not have done the hike with them.

This is how we found mom after our hike. I guess Derek was a little heavy. The funny part was watching people look at them as they walked by. Some lady even stopped to take mom's picture.

Isaac really liked the shoulder rides.

We found an antelope who posed for his photo op.

Looks like a great place for kids to be climbing on the fence doesn't it.

Absolutely breathtaking.
