Halloween Crafts

We made construction paper candy corn

Haley made some pumpin rice krispy treats and we decorated them

 Always the favorite...pumpkin painting.

Gluing marshmallows on ghosts.  Isaac kept telling me I was weird for using marshmallows for art.

Fall Break

This year the kids had fall break on Thursday, Friday and Monday.  Kevin and I had just got back from Germany, so I wanted to make sure I made Fall Break a lot of fun.

On Thursday Kevin met us and we picked out our pumpkins.  Logan took my picture with this scary guy below.  Then we went to Red Lobster for lunch.  Isaac kept going on and on about how this was his very favorite lunch ever.  Popcorn shrimp, broccoli, and sprite, does, it get any better?

 With our pumpkins.
On Friday morning I took all the kids swimming.

On Saturday we went to Trafalga to play Laser Tag and Miniature Golf.  Then that night we had family coloring with popcorn.  Unfortunately on Monday I had to report all morning for Jury Duty, so for fun Kevin got to stay home from work, and they always think that is the BEST holiday

Logan football

Logan played flag football this year for the first time.  He did awesome and loved it.  His desire right now is to grow up and be a football player.  He was awesome at defense, there were even games where the coaches on the other team would always make sure to run his guys to the opposite side of Logan.  They played him mostly as quarterback,  he had a couple of good passes (they mainly just ran because they are so young) including his first ever throw was for a touchdown. He did score his teams first 4 touchdowns.  (Can you tell we're proud) We had  a lot of fun watching him.  He has a very good understanding of the game.

In this series of photos he is zeroing on the kid with the ball (He's wearing black shorts with a white stripe)

And he finally gets the flag.

So intense.  I love his competitiveness.

Amsterdam--Day 4

Today was Kevin's only free day in Amsterdam.  We decided to do a walking tour on our own. There is wonderful architecture in Amsterdam, especially looking up.  It's less impressive near the ground.  Graffiti, bikes, trams, coffeeshops.  Such a contrast of old and new.

There are these "secret" little gardens in the middle of buildings.  In fact you have to go through a door to get to them and if you don't know what you are looking for you would never find it.  Surrounded on all sides by these houses was this little park with a church.

This so describes Amsterdam.   It seems like Marijuana's is a cure for everything!

 The floating flower market.
AbouttThe only flowers we saw in Amsterdam.
See the second seat on the back of the bike.

This was called Lizard park.  There were statues of different kinds of lizards all over.  Right up our alley.

 Bikes! Bikes!Bikes everywhere.
On the top of the houses are theses little pulleys sticking out of the top.  This was so they could get things up to the higher levels of the houses.
A church
This house was across from our hotel.  It looked like the house was folding in on its self.

We walked around and did some shopping.  We ate at an Italian restaurant for lunch and McDonalds for dinner.  The McDonald's there was much better than the McDonald's here.  It was a very relaxing, but tiring day.
