May 3-Beach Day

Today we went to the beach with Mom.  IT was a great day, the weather was perfect, the waves weren't too big, there was very little riptide and it wasn't crowded.
 Tyler loved the sand.
Derek really didn't like the water.  This picture made it look like he did, but I'm pretty sure he started screaming soon after.
Isaac was a little afraid of the water also.

Isaac wanted to collect shells so he and Grandma collected a whole bucket full.
 building a sand castle.

Haley was in no way afraid of the water.
Logan also wasn't afraid of the water, which made me a little afraid, because unlike Haley he wants to do everything by himself and would just take off into the water.
Logan started off burying himself but he couldn't finish so we had to get in there and help.
Isaac preparing himself to be buried.
Tyler enjoying some snacks and I'm sure eating some sand also.
Of course then Haley and Derek had to be buried also.
Derek was so cute being buried he kept his face like this the whole time, He looked like he was sleeping.

you had to go a long way out to get to the waves, but it was still nice and shallow.
Tyler went through several different outfits.
 Getting a little braver.
 Not enjoying being braver.
We then took, about a mile walk down to the next pier to eat at Ruby's.  Delicious.  Haley had fish and Chips just like her Grandma and then everyone had to have

shakes.

May-2 Day 8

Today we took Haley to get her hair cut.  Her hair was so long, but she wasn't very good at brushing it and she cried any time I tried to.  We had warned her for months that we were going to get it cut after the wedding, but she was still mad at me.  She shot daggers at me the whole time she was getting it cut. We were able to cut off enough to donate.

While I was there I decided to cut my hair also.  Afterwards we went to Grandma's house for lunch.  She made us turkey meatballs with pasta.  The best part of course was Grandma's homemade carrot cake.  The kids played with  Grandpa's old toys.  After Maddison got home from school, we took the kids swimming.  Tyler and I relaxed.
For dinner we went to BJ's with the whole family.

Day 7 --Disneyland

Back to Disneyland!  Mom, Tami, and Maddison joined us today and it was a lot of fun.  Again the weather was really good, and there were no lines.  It was one of our best trips to Disney in a long time.

The day did start off on a bad note.  We had been promising Derek he could ride a roller coaster.  He is our daredevil.  We told him he could ride the Matterhorn, that he was tall enough.  So that was the first place we ran to.  Unbeknownst to us,  they had changed the ride in the last year and had upped the height requirement.  Boy did he scream.   "I'm big nough.  Me not little."  Screamed and Screamed.  Of course every body else still went.  I tried to appease him with the Alice in Wonderland Ride and the Tea Cups, but it just wasn't enough.  (We ended our day with tears about the matterhorn also.  Isaac wanted to ride it a third time)
So after that we went to the kid roller coaster in toon town.  He LOVED it.  He also loved Pirates of the Carribean.  We rode it twice and he kept putting his hands up when ever the boat would climb in anticipation of the drop. Then he would say "that was a fun rolley coaster"
Lunch time.  Lunch was delicious.  We found a restaurant at New Orleans Square that had refillable sodas.  Which makes all the difference.

The Monte Cristos were delicious.
Splash Mountain--Not sure why Logan is holding his breath in both of these pictures.

Mom kept Tyler and I company on the little kid rides.

Just realized that Haley and Maddison were wearing butterfly shirts.

Derek couldn't go on Star Wars, but as we were walking towards it he saw the space ships and he just had to go on it.  Maddison tried to talk him out of it, saying they went to high, but nothing doing, so Aunt Tami took him on while we went on Star Tours.

 Gotta have a Dole Whip.

When asked what his favorite ride was Derek said "California Screamin, Tower of Terror, all the ones Haley liked" None of which he got to go on.  Isaac's favorite was the Matterhorn.  I just love seeing how much fun my kids have being there.
