4th of July (a little late)

Our 4th of July was pretty kicked back. We stayed home and played with the kids. Kevin's brother Dallin came over, since his wife and son were out of town. We live in a place where they still allow fireworks and the kids had a blast watching them. I'm not sure who has more fun the kids or the big kids that are lighting the fireworks and trying to discover new ways to blow their hands off. Isaac was the only one who didn't enjoy himself. He's not into loud noises. Then we sat on the back deck and from there we can see the valley and watch all the different shows.

Funny sign

Thanksgiving Point is an attraction out here that has a farm, a dinosaur museum, shopping area, fancy restaurant, golfing, a children's discovery garden, and another beautiful garden where they have a tulip festival every year. Well the two garden's are surrounded by large fences and have gates that I assume get closed at night. Well on one of the gates is this sign

The first time I saw this sign I really laughed. I was wondering who they were posting the sign for, those people who had pet deer and liked to take them on outings, or those deer who can interpret signs.

On June 6th the kids and I continued our drive into California. It took a lot longer than usual having to stop and take care of the baby over and over. We finally made it and got to finally introduce Isaac to the family. While in California we had Maddison's b-day party, went to Prado Park which had a really cool playground and water area, Sea World, and just hung out and had fun. Unfortunately Haley got an ear infection and woke up screaming Tuesday morning and we had to take her to the doctors. Logan got a double ear infection while we were gone, and I have to thank everybody (especially Tami) for taking care of him and cleaning up throw up and everything. We also got to meet Boston for the first time. Logan and he had fun everytime we laid them next to each other Isaac immediately started hitting him. I hope it's not a preview of things to come.

4 months old

I know I should be updating this with my trip, but I wanted to talk about Isaac instead. Isaac went to his 4 month appointment this week. He is 15 lbs 11 oz and 25 1/2 in. long. About the 75 % in both categories. He has also started sitting up this week. He can sit up for about 1 min by himself, he loves his exersaucer, he has 2 teeth already, and we started him on rice cereal this week (he really did like it). Last night he was on his tummy on the couch and I watched him scoot himself forward. I showed Kevin and then promptly removed him from his tummy, because I'm not ready for that yet. He has all of a sudden grown up so fast. We took him swimming last night and he loved it, he splashed and kicked the whole time.

I took the kids to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. While there they mads Plaster casts of fossils, played on a water and sand table, and dug for fossils in a sand pit. They had a lot of fun, and it was air conditioned, yeah!

This is the Children's Discovery Park at Thanksgiving Point. Getting a lot of use out of those year passes.

Grandma and Grandpa Smith Visit

Our summer started with Grandma and Grandpa Smith flying in for a visit. While they were here we blessed Isaac, ate good food, went for a beautiful drive up the canyon, visited with Dallin and Katie and their new baby Nathan, and bought some new plants for our yard for Kevin's and my birthdays. It was a fun but very fast trip. I already have pictures on here of the baby blessing but here are some more pictures of their trip.

Grandma and Grandpa Smith meet Nathan (Dallin's baby) for the first time. Anyone who knows these two knows they can sleep anywhere any time. Kevin got in on it for the picture.

Here is an actual picture of baby Nathan.

One day we took a trip up to Cottonwood canyon and found this really neat place where we ate our picnic lunch. It was beautiful and the kids loved climbing the rocks. It was called Moss ledge. We had a lot of fun with Grandma and Grandpa Smith. On June 5th Grandma, Grandpa, Haley, Logan, Isaac, and Kori drove down to Vegas, so Grandma and Grandpa could go to a conference. We all stayed at Circus Circus and went to see the circus shows. The kids loved it and Grandma and Grandpa were a lot of help. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa.

June Update

I haven't updated the blog for awhile because June was an extremely busy month. It started with Kevin's parents coming for a visit on May 31 and ended with a 12 hour car trip from Corona to Pleasant Grove on June 23. So I have a lot of pictures and since this is basically a journal you will have to deal with the mundane list of events that I am going to post. This is going to take a while, so I'm going to add a little bit at a time, between the laundry and unpacking, cleaning out drawers and putting a way clothes. It was an awesome month we had a lot of fun and this is my favorite picture of the trip. Logan enjoying a cupcake at Maddison's birthday party. I've always said he looks like the Joker when he smiles and the green icing outlining his face, doesn't help.

Check out my Slide Show!

Yesterday we had Isaac's baby blessing. We blessed our other babies much younger than this one. Kevin said this blessing would be a lot shorter because this kid is just too heavy. When Kevin walked to the front Logan stood on the pew and yelled, "That's my daddy up there". When the blessing was over Haley said Isaac sure was good during that prayer. We were afraid he would yell, because he seems to do that anytime Kevin holds him, but he didn't make a sound.
