Day at the Hospital

Today we took Logan in for his surgery. He had an adnoid and tonsilectomy. He has had breathing problems since he was born, he has sleep apnea, and he always has a runny nose, so we are hoping this fixes everything. He did so good today. We had to leave for the hospital at 6:30 this morning, He was very happy about going to the doctors to get his nose fixed. he kept telling me he was going to miss me. It was so sweet. Here he is in the waiting rom. Doing a puzzle that Grandma brought for him.

We got to the hospital for our 7:30 check in, but he didn't end up going in until 10. He couldn't eat or drink before. He was very good natured. Here we are dressing him in his hospital pajamas. He really liked them. His socks were too big and that really bugged him.

We then had to go to another waiting room for the pre-op. This being a children's hospital they had lots of toys and Logan was well entertained. They gave him a sedative before the anestesia to calm him and take care of any separation anxiety since we couldn't be with him when he got the anestesia. After that he had to stay seated so they put him in this wagon. He sat and played for 15 min until they came and got him.

About an antagonizing hour later, they came and got me as he was waking up form the anestesia. When I went back there the nurse was rocking him and he looked so out of it. She said to me he is so sweet and he loves to cuddle. They had his shirt off because of the surgery and he had these cords sticking out from him it looked so sad. I took him and he fell right back asleep. They then moved us into a recovery room. I put his spider man pajamas on him, but then he made me take them off and put his hospital pajamas back on.

He's done real well. Since he noon, he already had some slushie, 2 apple juices, is working on a grape juice, and eaten a half bowl of macaroni and cheese and is taking a nap.

So is dad, it's been a long day for him.

Thanks to my mom who was home with Isaac and Haley so Kevin and I could both be here with our boy.

I love how he is standing showing off his pjs...super cute. And the fact he made you put them back on him cracks me up.

I really hope that this surgery helps him out. He's not going to know what to do with a full good nights sleep!!!

PS...Mom called me today and told me that Boston is a lot easier than Isaac to take care of, but Dad told me tonight how much easier Logan is than Olivia....so I guess we both have our hands full !! =)

I am glad everything went well for the little guy. He is so cute and super sweet. It is so sad when our littles ones have to go through stuff like that. It reminds me of when Ethan broke his femur... they had to put him under when they put the hard cast on. It was so hard for me to let him go.
Hope all is well with you guys.
