Day 4 Saturday May 22

This morning we left London. We took a taxi to Paddington station and then took a train to the Heathrow airport, which is huge! We walked around and got to our rental car place. They put us in a Volkswagon Golf. Which had surprisingly a lot of room for being such a small car. Kevin got in the front seat and we crossed our fingers and took off. After some cursing, yelling, missed turns on round -a-bouts, rerouting, and close calls we made it to Windsor Castle. Where Kevin then had to try to park in a parking garage. Not only was he parking from the wrong side, but the parking stalls were tiny. I got out and helped guide him in and took a deep breath. We were ready for some walking.

Derek on the hotel bed. (For an expensive hotel the beds were brick hard)

We started off walking through an outdoor mall when Kevin remembered the camera was still in the car. He ran back to get it while I found us some lunch. We went to a Pasty shop called Cornwall Pastys (we later got laughed at by Craig, Jane, Nigel and Julie for eating Pastys in Windsor) and through the castle. They had free audio tours to listen through the castle which was very enjoyable.
This is the Cathedral in Windsor Castle.
Windsor castle is still a working castle, where the Queen lives part of the year and still entertains there.

We saw the inside the Cathedral, the Doll House, and the China collection and were able to walk through parts of the Castle but were not allowed to take pictures inside. We had to check our stroller when we went in the castle and again I had to carry Derek. Just not very stroller friendly.

After the hot walk through windsor we bought water which of course was not cold, but they actually had ice they gave us in a cup. Oh so heavenly. England was uncharacteristically hot while we were there and they never had cold drinks. When we would ask for ice they would look at us like we were crazy, and most of the time, they wouldn't have any.

We got back on the motorway and headed to Bristol. We missed the turn to Craigs house so he came out to direct us back and then parked for us as it was a tiny space in which we had to parallel park. Kevin was already stressed from driving.
We made it to Bristol where Craig and Jane made us a wonderful dinner of BBQ sausage, ham, chicken skewers, some salads and Kevin's favorite red bell peppers stuffed with Ricotta Cheese.
