Isaac's first Birthday

Isaac opening his birthday card from Great Grandma and Great Grandpa

Here he is with his candle and cupcake. So his cupcake looks pretty pathetic and I took a lot of flak for it. Logan is allergic to eggs so I attempted a new recipe for cupcakes. They tasted great they just didn't look good and you had to use a fork. If anyone has tips for me, please share.

He started out kind of timid

but he got into it.

You want some?

After cleaning up he got to open some birthday presents. Opening birthday presents in his birthday suits.

Cousin Nathan came over to get some pointers on how to eat a first birthday cake. Something tells me he won't have any problems.

Isaac is 20 lbs 11 oz and 29 3/4 in long. He walks, climbs, plays. He wants to be one of the big kids. We are no longer nursing (which I am more happy about than he is.) He's cutting his 7th and 8th teeth. He has started a new annoying habit where he grunts when he wants something. He's alredy becoming a daddy's boy. I was sitting and holding him and he started to fuss. So I stood up with him and he pointed to daddy, I took him over there, he reached for daddy crawled in his arms and fell asleep.

Issac's first hair cut

I had been thinking that Isaac's hair had been starting to look a little long. Well I ran my wet hands through his hair and it was out of control, so I decided to give him a little haircut. Please forgive the pictures Haley was the photographer and since Isaac had his back to us the pictures had to be taken from his reflection. I stuck him in the sind and gave him a sucker. He was great the whole time.

He's walking

A couple of weeks ago Isaac started taking a few steps, but wasn't very interested in the walking thing. So we haven't pushed it, because face it he already gets into too much. Saturday night, he was sitting on the recliner by himself, got off and walked halfway across the room until he realized we were watching him and then he walked to Kevin and was done for the night. He seemed to take yesterday off, and tonight he started doing small walks, anything that was 2-3 steps. Then all of a sudden he decided he liked it and that was it. He is now a walker and has been practicing all night. Man these kids grow up fast.

Our kids are always good for a laugh

The other night Kevin and I got to go on a date. Isaac got to come too. Haley and Logan love to have babysitters. Haley asks me all the time when we are going to leave so they can have a babysitter. A couple of weeks ago, I was going out on a girls night and was explaining to Haley and telling her she was going to stay home with daddy. She asked my why daddy wasn't going with me so she could have a babysitter. I told her because it was a movie daddy wouldn't like, and I was going with my friends. Then she told me she had a good idea, daddy should go with his friends to a movie also. I never thought my children would be so eager to get rid of us.
At dinner they gave Isaac a placemat and crayon and in my head I was laughing thinking, don't you think he's a little young for that, and yet here you see him with the crayon in hand and he knew exactly what to do.

Storytime.

Haley Logan and I came downstairs and I expected Isaac to follow. When he never came down from the kitchen I sent Logan to look for him and he came back saying he couldn't find him. So I went looking in the kitchen for him, calling "Isaac where are you?" over and over. He never made a sound so I went upstairs to look for him again calling. When I got to the top of the stairs he poked his head out of the bathroom and yelled "Arghhhh" like he was trying to scare me. Sometimes I think this kid thinks he is older than he is.

I promise my house isn't this cold, Logan is just really into hats right now. He told me his hands were cold, I told him I would warm them for him, and he said no I want to wear my gloves. Then he saw the hat and told me his head was cold too.

Isaac has learned how to crawl onto the table and then onto the couch. Luckily he can crawl back down too.

Getting ready for bed.

He likes to climb on things, wants to be one of the big kids.

Isaac loves to wrestle. The other day, he was standing straight up and body slamming my face. Logan was sitting there, and I told him Isaac was hurting me. Logan said, "I have doctor stuff to fix you. If your tummy hurts you take the one that goes in your ears and listen to your tummy and it tells you whats wrong." (Stethoscope) He then preceded to explain all his different doctor tools. I told him that Isaac hurt my face and asked him if he had anything for that. He said "I can't fix your face."

Funny Haley Stories

Haley received a Valentine card in the mail from Great Grandma. As she was taking it out of the envelope she said."What a beautiful card, let me read it to you...Dear Haley. Great Grandma spelled my name wrong." I looked at it and told her it was spelled correctly. Haley replied "She messed up on her 'H'. (The middle line in her 'h' was slanted slightly)" "No," I told her, "that's how Great Grandma makes her H's." "Oh" she replied.

A little while later we we're in the car she said "how come Great Grandma spelled my name wrong?" She was very worried about it. Again I told her it wasn't wrong, that is how Great Grandma makes her H's. To which she replied, "Next time I go to Grandma's house I'll teach Great Grandma how to make an H."

For Valentines Day Haley's teacher gave each member of the class a little can of Rootbeer. As we were leaving Haley gives me a look and said "My teacher gave me a coke drink. (Coke drink is what they call all Soda) I'm not supposed to have Coke drink, but my teacher gave it to me so I get to drink it right. Daddy's going to be sooo mad."

During dinner the other night Haley asked me if I knew what her favorite food was. I said no, what is it? She says, "It starts with a 'CHI'." I said Chinese, and she told me I got it right. Well the next morning I was getting her "brefkast" as she says it and she said "Toast is my favorite for brefkast, but Chinese is my favorite lunch and dinner, can I have Chinese for lunch." And of course she did. And you have never seen a 2 and a 4 year old eat so much. Even Isaac thoroughly enjoyed his ham fried rice.

Valentines day!

Happy Valentines! Valentines is very low key at our house. We took Haley to kids club at Macey's where she got to make cookies and a candy airplane and some valentines. We went out to lunch and home to watch BYU Basketball. After the kids went to bed we got out some Peanut M&M's Martinellis and a movie. Hope everyone had a good Valentines Day. These are some cookies we made at home and the kids decorated.

Catch up time

I know it's been a while...we've had a long February with lots of sicknes. The latest being Logan with a major allergy attack which had us back at the doctors with wheezing and coughing. Eggs are in more things than I realized. Well here are some random pictues from the last couple of weeks.

Logan got himself stuck in the office chair.

We went to the Bean Museum and they were doing a reptile show. The kids were very excited about the reptiles they got to hold and touch. (This one isn't alive)

I was doing laundry and Haley came dancing into the room wearing one of my bras and singing "Now I'm a mommy"
Of course Logan had to do it to.

Isaac getting some loving from his daddy.

Mom this picture is for you.

I was laying on the floor and Isaac picked up a kleenex came over and wiped my nose for me. He did it a couple of times. Of course by the time we got the video going it was more like he was smacking me.

Kevin and the kids were sorting pieces for a puzzle and Isaac was helping to sort. This video cracked me up, and it might just be because I haven't slept in two weeks. Pay attention to Kevin and Isaac's hands while Isaac is sorting. Also listen to Logan talking to Kevin in the background. (There's a Florida basketball game on at the same time.)

Logan asks 8 times if it's an edge piece before Kevin finally answers him.
