Capitol Reef and Hwy 12

On the 2nd day of our trip we had a 5:45 am wake up call from the fire alarm in our hotel. Someone had burned toast at the continental breakfast. So we got an early start.

We drove back into Capitol Reef to do the Capitol Gorge hike.

We named this snake rock.

We came around the corner and were met by these "not so big" horn sheep.

Isaac has a fascination with rocks.

This hike was between high rock walls and there were all kids of holes in the rocks. Which of course we climbed and stuck our kids in for pictures.

We were told the hike was stroller friendly. It was not so we ditched our stroller along the hike and had to carry Derek. So heavy.

A natural recliner.

After Capitol reef we took the scenic Hwy 12 to Duck Creek. There were some views that were absolutely breathtaking. I think we got over 9000 ft in elevation.

We ended our drive at a cabin in Duck Creek. We then drove to Cedar City for dinner and on the way home, we almost hit a deer, an owl and a red fox. Quite an interesting evening.
